Bhubaneswar: Pintu Nanda, Odia actor left for New Delhi on Tuesday morning for advanced treatment at a private hospital. The actor is suffering from liver cirrhosis for the last several months.
Pintu will be admitted to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) and undergo a liver transplant at the hospital later.
Nanda, who usually portrays negative characters in Ollywood movies, was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after his health condition deteriorated. The doctor attending him advised advanced treatment in New Delhi. As the treatment required Rs 50 lakh, Pintu and his family and friends sought financial aid from well-wishers to facilitate his treatment.
The Odisha Cine Artist Association also held a meeting to discuss ways and means to help the ailing actor. The association has started fundraising on social media platforms. Pintu’s fans and the general public have also extended financial help to the actor.
