Odisha Assembly Budget Session To Resume Today

Bhubaneswar: The ongoing Budget session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will resume on Monday after a gap of two days, officials said.

Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented the annual Budget of Rs 2.30 lakh crore for the year 2023-24 in the state Assembly on Friday. The outlay for the next fiscal is 15 per cent more than the full-fledged budget for 2022-23. The session today will comprise a discussion on the annual Budget.

However, the proceedings of the session are likely to be stormy with the Opposition BJP and Congress geared up to corner the state government over several issues including the probe into the murder of Minister Naba Das, the alleged deteriorating law and order situation and the farmers’ issues.
