Odisha CM In Rourkela Today To Receive Guinness World Records For Birsa Munda Stadium

Bhubaneswar: Here is some good news. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will receive the Guinness World Records in Rourkela on Friday for the Birsa Munda Hockey International Hockey Stadium. The Guinness Book of World Records declared the Birsa Munda Stadium in Odisha’s Rourkela as the largest fully-seated hockey stadium in the world on January 29, 2023.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on January 5 this year ahead of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup.

The Chief Minister will reach Rourkela at 5.00 pm today and proceed to inaugurate the Birsa Munda multi-purpose stadium and the adjacent multi-level car parking, which has been constructed by the Rourkela Smart City Ltd at an estimated cost of Rs 138 crore.

Later, he will attend the inaugural ceremony of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022-23 at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium (BMHS).

Later, the Chief Minister will inaugurate and lay foundations of around projects worth Rs 600 crore for the development of the Sundargarh district.

Naveen will spend the night at the Hockey World Cup Village on the BMHS complex and leave for Bhubaneswar at 10.40 am on Saturday.
