Bhubaneswar: Several places in Odisha are likely to experience rain for another five days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and lightning for one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts in the next 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is also likely to occur at a few places in Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj districts.
A partly cloudy sky with the possibility of the development of thunder/lightning is forecast for Bhubaneswar and neighbouring regions during the next 2 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 36°C and 23°C respectively.
Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm has occurred in many places over the districts of coastal Odisha and at a few places in interior Odisha. The major amount of rainfall recorded in cm are Gopalpur (5 cm), Marsaghai (5 cm), Banpur (4 cm), Dharmagarh (4 cm), R.Udaigiri (4 cm), Mahendragarh (4 cm), Mohakalapada (3 cm), Krishnaprasad (3 cm), Gaisilet (3 cm), Komna (3 cm), Rangeilunda (3 cm), Nuagada (3 cm), Berhampur (3 cm) and Khordha Pto (3 cm).
According to reports, hailstorm activity occurred in Bolangir, Cuttack and Kendrapada districts during the past 24 hours.
