Jharsuguda: Dismissed ASI of Odisha Police, Gopal Krishna Das, who has hogged the headlines over the last 11 days after killing Health Minister Naba Kisore Das in broad daylight, was on Wednesday flown to Gujarat for narco analysis and polygraph tests.
Earlier in the day, the Crime Branch, which is investigating Naba Das’ murder had moved the local JMFC court seeking permission for the test, only after the prime accused had given his consent for narco analysis.
After securing the court’s permission Gopal was ferried to Jharsuguda airport amid watertight security. In an interesting turn of events, Gopal was seen smirking after having a glimpse of a newspaper.
The video of this event, captured on a mobile phone, reportedly by a journo, shows a no-remorse emotion on the face of Gopal who has shot a human being in cold blood,
Within seconds, after Gopal had this unusual smile, someone is seen in the frame, removing the newspaper from the table. The incident took place in the waiting area of Jharsuguda airport. The narco analysis of Gopal is very likely to be performed at the Directorate of Forensic Sciences (DFS) in Gandhinagar, said sources.
Meanwhile, retired Orissa High Court Judge, Justice JP Das, visited the crime scene at Gandhi Chowk in Brajarajnagar, 15 km from here. DG Police Sunil Kumar Bansal, accompanied by Director of Intelligence Sanjeeb Panda and Northern Range IGP, Deepak Kumar.
