Puri: The Shree Jagannatha Temple Managing Committee at its meeting today approved the layout plan for the establishment of the proposed Adarsh Gurukul here.
“We had a meeting of the managing committee today. The meeting had a single agenda to approve the layout plan for the Gurukul. The layout plan was discussed in today’s meeting and the same has been approved,” informed V V Yadav, Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) briefing reporters after the meeting.
Yadav said that now that the layout plan of the Gurukul has been approved, a detailed drawing with the estimate will be prepared and then tender for the execution of the construction will be floated.
“We are trying our best to commence the education session in the Gurukul at the soonest,” he said.
The SJTA Chief Administrator told that earlier an MoU has been inked with the Birla Foundation for the establishment of the Gurukul.
He informed that children of the sevayats (servitors) and outsiders will study in the Gurukul.
However, 50 per cent of the seats in the Gurukul will be reserved for children of the servitors, he added.
He further informed that the proposed Gurukul will be established on 32 acres of land.
